Having your windows cleaned will bring a radiance and shine to your home.  It’s also beneficial for identifying window issues that could cause significant damage in the future.

Some problems that often go unnoticed by homeowners are poor-fitting window screens, wood rotting on windowsills, and damaged or broken windows.  It’s important not to let these problems persist – a broken window can be extremely dangerous in the event of a housefire, forcing you to find another way out of your home.

In addition, insects can infest your window shutters, storm windows, and window channels.  Nobody wants to have swarms of bees, hornets, or wasps living in the exterior of their home.

Effective window cleaning will also extend the life of your home’s windows.  If left unattended for years, windows will accumulate dirt and grime that can wear down on the glass and structure.  This mostly comes from rainwater that runs off your roof and siding, bringing the dirt to your windows and shutters where it builds up over time.  That said, there are a wide range of factors that contribute to window damage.  These include oxidation from windows encased in screens or metal frames, sea spray from the ocean, building run-ff from your sprinkler system, and even sunlight.  Also, if you have several trees near your home, they can add significant sediment to the gunk buildup.

Glass degrades gradually over time, so often the damage that’s being done from contaminants won’t be noticed until it becomes a big problem.  The best way to mitigate that risk is to clean your windows regularly.

Maintaining clean windows will contribute to the longevity of your windows, provide a nicer look and feel to your home, and let in all the beautiful light from the outside world.  This is a service that should not be ignored!
