Is this safe for my plants and pets?
Yes. When applied properly by our licensed applicator technician, the products used in our Non-Lawn Weed Control service are designed to be safe for pets, people, and surrounding plants. Our technicians apply treatments only to targeted areas such as cracks in driveways, walkways, gravel surfaces, and other non-lawn areas where weeds grow. We use controlled spot applications to minimize contact with desirable plants in nearby landscape beds. In most cases, pets and people simply need to stay off the treated area until it has completely dried, which usually takes a short amount of time depending on weather conditions. Because this service reduces the need for repeated trimming in rocks and hard surfaces, it can also lower the risk of debris being thrown by mowers or string trimmers, which helps protect windows, vehicles, and property.
Why don't you hand pull them?
Hand pulling may seem like the easiest solution, but it is usually not an effective long-term method for controlling weeds in areas like driveway cracks, gravel, and hard-to-reach spaces. Many weeds grow deep root systems or break off when pulled, which allows them to quickly grow back. In areas such as cracks in concrete, paver joints, gravel, and along edges, it’s often impossible to remove the entire root by hand. This means the weeds typically return within a short time, sometimes even stronger than before. Our Non-Lawn Weed Control program focuses on preventing weeds before they grow by applying pre-emergent treatments that brakdown a weed seed to stop it from germinating throughout the season, along with targeted spot treatments for existing weeds. This approach helps stop new weeds from germinating while eliminating active growth. The result is longer-lasting control, fewer recurring weeds, and a cleaner appearance for all the non-lawn areas of your property without constant pulling or trimming.
