My sprinkler system is running longer than usual. Why?

We can inspect your system to identify the cause and make adjustments.

Will an automatic sprinkler system use more water than I’m currently using?
No, an automatic sprinkler system is designed to use water more efficiently than manual watering methods. Modern systems are equipped with features like timers, rain sensors, and adjustable heads to ensure your lawn gets the right amount of water without waste. Proper installation and programming can even reduce your overall water usage while keeping your landscape healthy.
Can I save money by installing my own system?
While installing your own sprinkler system might save money upfront, it can cost more in the long run if not done correctly. Professional installation ensures the system is designed for optimal water efficiency, coverage, and long-term reliability. Mistakes like improper pipe placement, incorrect water pressure, or uneven coverage can lead to costly repairs, water waste, and damage to your landscape. Hiring a professional ensures the job is done right the first time, saving you time, effort, and potential future expenses.
I’m noticing excessive water runoff. What should I do?
Excessive runoff can waste water and damage your landscape. Possible causes include:
Improperly adjusted sprinkler heads
Obstructed sprinkler heads
Uneven terrain
Clogged drains
We can adjust your system to ensure proper water distribution and minimize runoff.
My system turned on even though it’s raining.
This usually happens if your system lacks a rain sensor or if the sensor isn’t working properly. A rain sensor detects rainfall and prevents the system from running unnecessarily, saving water and preventing overwatering. Check if your system has a functioning sensor, and if not, consider adding one. If you already have a rain sensor, ensure it’s clean, properly connected, and positioned where it can accurately detect rain. A professional can help troubleshoot or upgrade your system to prevent this issue in the future.
I have a really soggy, spongy spot in my grass, what can this be?
A soggy or spongy spot in your grass often indicates a leak in your sprinkler system. Common causes include a broken pipe, a malfunctioning valve, or a sprinkler head that’s stuck or damaged. It could also result from poor drainage in that area. To resolve this, inspect your sprinkler system for visible leaks or damage. If the issue persists, it’s best to contact a professional to diagnose and fix the problem to prevent water waste and further damage to your lawn.
How do you charge for sprinkler system repairs?
We offer competitive pricing based on the type of repair, the complexity of the issue, and the time required to complete the work.
Whenever possible, we will give you an upfront estimate for repairs, however, for things that will take an unknown amount of time, we will charge by the hour, per employee working on the system (usually just one, but in some instances, we may require more assistance).
We do not list pricing on our website due to frequent changes in the industry inflation, parts, etc.
