EJ's Lawn Rangers, LLC
My husband has always said that one day he wanted us to own our own business, that we could run together. Turns out that we work really well together and we actually really like one another. We honestly never truly believed that we would in fact be "business owners", it felt more like a "pipe dream". Then 6 years ago we were blessed with a precious baby girl. What a surprise that was! Can you imagine coming home and trying to explain to your husband that you don't have the flu, but you are in fact pregnant, after years of being told we (or should I say, that I) could not have kids. At that moment I think we believed that anything was possible. So a few years later, we walked out on our first limb and bought a tractor and started a transportation company. Initially, it was hard like all things are, but we've been blessed with an amazing driver so that company is doing well. Then, I was diagnosed with a rare, fast growing cancer in my sinus cavity. So, we spent the next year and a half dealing with chemo, radiation, multiple surgeries, hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatments, etc., etc.... And through this process it became very difficult for me to function at my job as a clinical research coordinator. Not many people can say that they truly LOVE their job, but I can! Not only do I love my job, but I absolutely adore all of my co-workers, and especially my friend and supervisor. Heck I even love my patients. I can honestly say that I have some of the most amazing co-workers and patients. So, when I was at my lowest point (almost) my husband says, "Let's start a lawn care business". Which isn't as far fetched of an idea as it may sound. When I met my husband 14 years ago he had a lawn care business that he ran on the side. He had been running the part-time business for more than 10 years by that time and had honestly gotten tired of spending his weekends cutting everyone else's yards, so once the mower died so did the business. Since I am still fighting my battle, it worked out that we could start up a lawn care business that I could run from the house. As luck would have it, one of our friends who had been working in the lawn care and maintenance industry for 15+ years was looking for a Foreman or Supervisory position and I had a position to fill. So, I quickly became the owner of EJ's Lawn Rangers, LLC. The company name is in honor of my Step-Dad, Marvin Lee Jensen. He always used my initials and affectionately referred to me as EJ. So, I want to thank everyone who has helped this dream become reality.
