Our Story


South Lyon Lawn and Irrigation was started by David James before he could even drive. He would have his father drop him off in neighborhoods after school and on the weekends with his single push mower and spend all day mowing lawns for $6. In the winter David would go door to door with his father's snowblower clearing driveways and sidewalks for $5. From there, South Lyon Lawn Care began to grow. David worked all through high school and college growing the company and continued on that path. Today David, a resident of South Lyon, is proud to be an owner-operator of South Lyon Lawn and Irrigation. The days of $6 lawn mowing and $5 snow blowing may be gone but the quality service and ambition remain the same. What are your fall clean up rates?
Fall clean-up rates are $85.00 per man-hour plus dump fees.
For that hourly rate you will get as many men as your job requires(each man on site is $85 per hour), backpack blowers, stand on blowers, all hand tools required for the job, as well as one of our leaf vac trucks to suck up your leaves and haul them away for disposal. Fall is our busiest time of the year. Our staff works hard and fast and we have the latest equipment to get the job done just as quick as possible.
What does fall clean up consist of?
It depends what you want done. Generally when someone calls for a fall clean up they want the leaves removed from their property. We will start at the rear of your property and blow all the leaves to the street. This includes blowing out the flower beds, under porches, everything. Once the leaves are at the street we will pick them up with one of our leaf vacuum trucks to be hauled away and disposed of at the local land fill. However we also perform fall cut back to include the clean up of your flower beds as well as cutting back annuals and perennials, like hostas, daylilies, and peonies.
Will you cut my lawn just one time?
Our company requires a seasonal contract or a remainder-of-the-season contract for lawn mowing. Our mowing crews follow established routes, cutting the same lawns consistently each week. This allows them to be more productive and deliver exceptional service. Unfortunately, we are unable to cut your lawn just once.
Do you do brick pavers?

Do you do snow removal?
Yes. We provide seasonal contracts for snow removal in and around South Lyon, MI.
Will you plow my driveway just one time?
No. Our snow removal is a seasonal contract. We do not do any 1 time services.
